This is one of my favorite watercolors. The title is in the title of the blog post. Every Friday night at Holden Village, they have a vespers service based on a Taize service called "Prayer Around the Cross." The cross is placed in the middle of the church building and boxes with sand and candles are placed around it (as seen in the painting.)

Cracked Pots!
Here's another one! This is a still life I did a year or two ago of cracked ceramic mugs that I did in my intermediate drawing class. It was done in red conte on white paper.

So I've decided...
So I've decided to write a post a day. Lets see how well I keep this up...But here's a new art piece! Well it's not new, I made it a year ago. It's called "Chalet Hill." As the title describes, it was drawn from a picture of Chalet Hill which is this hill where all the chalets are in Holden Village, a lutheran church retreat center that I go to and volunteer every summer. Enjoy!

ze first post
Is it pretentious to put as my first post, a self portrait? I don't know but here it is! I painted it a couple years ago as a final intermediate painting project. I think it turned out alright!
